Looper limitations?

I have only just bought my helix. I'm trying to use the looper but have found a couple of thing I can't do which usually you can with other looper -

 

1. Adjust the level of the loop

2. Record a second channel of looping that can be started and stopped independently

 

Am I missing something obvious or is this something line 6 tech could add to the list of future improvements?

1. You can adjust the playback level of the recorded Loop. Select the Looper block and adjust as desired.

2. No. You can overdub on top of the recorded Loop but there is no independent playback control.

Re:additional channel - this is a limitation that could be improved! As a guitarist/singer this would give heaps of added versatility

Unfortunately, the looper in the Helix (as with the HD-series stuff) is more of a bonus extra than a key feature. Works great at the front of the chain for setting up tones, though!

Agreed. I only use an external looper (Boomerang III) for live performance looping. Powerful, less tap dancing, no muss, no fuss. The Helix looper does come in very handy for testing preset settings and comparing amps, etc.
