tjbrosch71
Anyone know if replacing a pickup affects the actual modeling ability of the jtv? I was thinking of putting in a Texas Strat pickup but someone warned it could create a problem.
Charlie_Watt
It won't affect modeling as long as they are not set too close to the strings.
psarkissian
And make certain there aren't any impedance mis-matches to interfere with the electronics. Ironically, I was having a chat just yesterday with two guitar builder friends, and Texas Strat pick-ups came up in the talk. I'll ask him about that again, forgot what it was they said. psarkissian
Right,... it was to make certain they are correctly shielded. Make certain they are correctly spaced, or you will have problems with mutual coupling inductance between the pick-up's magnetic fields. From our talk yesterday, I got the impression Texas Strats were inherently more noisy than most pick-ups. Some guys like that grunge and know how to make it sound good.
