vikeor 0 Posted November 15, 2016 Hi, I STILL have a Spider II 212 and I love it for home use. I tried to play something after work today (amp wasn't used for about a week) and after about 30s to a minute, it just stops working. The lights are on, just no sound. What could be wrong? After turning it off and on again, the same thing happens. Thanks for any help.
psarkissian 222 Posted December 1, 2016 It will need to go to a Line 6 authorized service center. http://line6.com/find/service_center/ There is one near Warsaw and another in Krakow. This is an older product. There are a number of possible reasons for it to fail like that. It will need to be checked by a technician. It won't be anything that you would be able to fix yourself. BillBee 389 Posted December 1, 2016 It is the best thing to do BUT for the $ you might and to look at scoring another used one. The "no sound" when warmed up can mean a component went bad or something needs to be re-soldered (my guess). Mere humans will have a tough time if it is a chip's solder point or a hairline crack in a trace.
psarkissian 222 Posted December 1, 2016 Could be oxidized solder, could be failed amp chip,... an authorized tech can get parts if needed,at least those parts still available. An authorized tech who knows the product can get through it quicker and with less problems, as they will have access to parts and service information.
