BlueViolince
Has anyone else noticed a fair bit of hiss when using the XLR outputs? I use a preamp/DI with mine, but I would prefer to use a smaller preamp and go direct from the Helix. Right now, there's too much noise when I do it. I have tried both line and mic level. What else can I try to eliminate that?
phil_m
If you have phantom power being sent to the XLR outs, yes, they can be noisy. Otherwise, they should be fine. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects-controllers/helix/helix-xlr-outputs-and-48v-phantom-power-r771
PeterHamm
And if it's not a phantom power issue, please make sure that you're output from Helix (the big knob) is at Max and you start out with gain all the way down on your mixer. If you send out a weak signal from Helix and it needs to be boosted a a bit where it goes into your system, it'll be noisy.
