Expression 2 & 3 unplugged?

When the external expression controllers are unplugged, what's the default behaviour supposed to be, next time you boot up?  Do they store their last input value, or do they return to toe down, or heel down value?  Assuming the Helix is turned off before the cords are unplugged.

They stay at whatever value is saved in the preset and/or snapshot (if you have a specific value saved for a snapshot). The only exception would be if you had the EXP2 Position setting in the Global Settings menu for EXP2 set to Global. In that case, if you toggled the on-board pedal to control EXP2, any parameters tied to EXP2 would go to whatever position the pedal was at when you last used it.

I use that to my advantage and I always save my presets with the volume block on EXP2 in the heel down position. That way when I call up a different preset, volume is at zero until I move the volume pedal. Your application needs may vary though, but just be aware that you can leverage that functionality to work for you.

I use 2 for delay feedback, and 3 mostly for volume, on every preset, and they are global. I will have to see if changing it to a preset level setting helps. I don't usually perform without the expression pedals, but when I'm practicing, it would be nice to not have to plug everything in. The Hot Hand needs to be recharged every other few days or so, and I never remember to plug it in.
