Wah On/OFF

Hi,

I'm sorry if the topic is already opened somewhere and I'll be happy to find the solution in an other one.

My question I think will be simple. I moved from Firehawk to Helix LT a few days ago. And of course, I'm very happy of this.

I think I can do what I want and I see how it works but I didn't understand how to switch on and off a simple wah.

I've always the Exp 2 pedal green spot on even with no Volume pedal but when I put a wah block, the green spot on Exp 1 pedal is not working. Even if  i switch on the effect on the software. And of course when I push the expression pedal, it doesn't work. The wah still remains at 100% for exemple. As the wah refuses to work

So if there a way to activate it simply by pushing the expression pedal like the firehawk?

Maybe I made something wrong with the switches...

If someone can explain it to me how to do it.

Thanks

Marc (From France)

There's an "auto-engage" that's been added to the firmware, not at Helix right now to talk you through it, but will try to later.

Basically it makes it so the wah is off when you're at heel down, and turns on as you work it, then turns off again when you go back to heel down.

For the auto-engage-disengage function:

1. Select the wah

2. Menu

3. Bypass assign

4. For switch, select the expression controller you want to use

5. Position controls at what pedal position to engage/disengage the wah

6. Wait controls how long to wait before actually engaging/disengaging the wah

I find it works fairly well. It does take some amount of getting used to because there might be a point where you can hear the wah engage/disengage, depending on the chosen wah and/or the value of FcLow relative to how the tone sounds with the wah turned off.
