twystedriffs
So my Police tribute is opening for a Red Hot Chilli Peppers tribute on the 4th.. sweet I know;) we are providing backline, and the guitarist is cool using my helix. He wants a fender twin amp model, and will use his own pedals. I have never run anything but my looper and talk box through the sends. And advice on using ourboard pedals to make sure I set him up good? Thanks!
rvroberts
I would just run out of the pedal board into the Helix with a classic Twin patch - you can run into way to many level matching issues if you do anything more complex (assume he's just plugging in on the night? - brave/foolhardy move for that guy!) - you will obviously need to give him a gain and tone just like on the real amp - but straight in the front is the way I'd go. (a gentle bit of noise gate might be worth adding - but he needs his own patch that is a nice fender clean that you can push to the beginning of overdrive - I'm assuming he gets his sounds with his board mainly or he is really crazy! twystedriffs
Yeah, one nighter. No idea what his pedal board consists of. So I figured I would insert him before the amp, and have a few different cab options set up. Also, can I run a stereo path of amps and use the same send/ return before each amp? Try to give him a big sound, but simple? Am I on the right path here? Sounds to simple to be true..but such is the helix!
markdenman123
It would probably be the easiest - especially if you aren't getting together with him first - to not worry about inserting his board via returns. Just set up the Twin with a stock cab configuration and have him go: guitar -> pedal board -> Helix input
HonestOpinion
I agree with everyone's signal chain suggestions. It might be worth setting up a couple of other Fender amp options in addition to the cab options twystedriffs suggested. Maybe even a Hiwatt or other clean amp alternative. The Fender Twin model may not be what he ends up preferring.

I use that way more than I ever would have thought - and I LOVE Fender amps.....
twystedriffs
Thanks guys for the feedback. I want them to be happy, maybe make a convert;) ill try the hiwatt too. Good call. Ill just set up a few patches and let him choose!
