Pod Hd 500 Midi Controlling An Evh 5150 Iii 50 Watt Amp

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone.

I just wanted to share a couple videos I made using the 5150 III 50 watt head with my POD HD 500.

The first one is showing how the 4 cable method (4CM) works and trying to help people with common problems.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L50k4...3QdFVNGRykjVOA

The second is how to use the MIDI channel switching.

Please feel free to leave comments on YouTube and let me know if any other videos are wanted.

Good vid's.  I've been thinking of going this exact route until yesterday.  I was able to plug JTV/HD500 straight into a PA and get pretty good results, learned some stuff, have tweaked settings today and expect to be able to run with just these two pieces for a cover band gig.  Damn close to dream rig (in the cover band sense) as I'm gonna get for quite some time.  That said; I'm still salivating for that amp.  Must refrain...

Thanks for the great vids. As it turns out, I'm about an hour North of you in Inverness, which got me wondering...Did you get to demo this amp before you bought it? I don't remember having seen any in stock in the Tampa Bay area (I demo`d one in Hawaii when I lived there). I'm pretty well sold on buying a rig just like yours but I'd really like to check out the head and the POD HD500X before I drop $2k. Any suggestions are appreciated (your prefferred music stores in the area, where you play out at, anything else...) and thanks!

ROCK ON!

I bought it used so I tried it out at the guy's studio which was great.  I brought my guitar and met a really cool guy in the process.

The last few times I've been to Sam Ash in Clearwater (McMullen Booth) they have had an EVH 5150 and a 2x12 to match.  I would call them first.

If I was closer I would meet you somewhere and let you try out mine.  My time is very limited right now with newborn twins and a 6 year old, all boys.  Plus my wife needs some attention every once in a while too. LOL.

Ok, cool, I'll start resesrching options in tne TB area and figuring it out. Maybe we can figure a time to meet up when you're free, I'm pretty flexible on scheduling.

As far as family and being busy, I utterly underdstand! I have an 11-year-old son, along with my wife and I both being in college, so I hear you. I haven't touched my guitars in weeks, but I know I will soon. Thanks for the info and keep rocking.
