Difference between input gate & noise gate?

Both have threshhold, both have attack, both can be bypassed. Only difference I can see is that the noise gate also has level. If I am going to leave level at zero, are these blocks otherwise identical (assuming the noise gate would be the first block in the path)?

As far as I recollect, they work the same. They are suited for different positions in the signal paths. The Input Block's Noise Gate parameters, handle the incoming signal's dynamics without needing to insert another Gate Block in the signal path. The Noise Gate Blocks may be used anywhere in the signal path as needed. They are very light on DSP resources. Use em if you need em!
