HX Edit

You should not need to uninstall the old editor before installing the new one; it is replaced. Some people who have encountered installation issues have reported that uninstalling first can help but in those cases there's likely something wrong to begin with. Under normal circumstances it is not required.

Thanks - I see it now.

I believe this is a one-time suggestion for this release because the program name has changed from Helix to HX Edit. So now if you look (on Windows) at the list of programs you will still see the old editor and you can remove it just for administrative cleanup purposes. I don't think leaving it installed it will cause any issues or conflicts (at least it hasn't for me) but it's now obsolete and can be removed.

In general, and as long as the program name remains HX Edit, you should not need to uninstall the old edit program. The new one will replace it and you will only see one HX Edit program in the list of Programs and Apps.
