Mode switch problem

Anyone experience problems with their mode switch, button #6?

My setup is top row stomp bottom snapshot. When I press mode the bottom row will flicker the snapshots and then go blank. If I keep trying I can eventually get it back to snapshots.

As I only use stomps on top/snap on bottom it isn't a big deal. Until I need to exit the looper, then I'm stuck without snapshots.

The best time to experience this, of course, was while at a gig up in grand rapids....

I bought the unit used from guitar center a while back, needless to say it's not under warranty. Guitar is my sole source of income between lessons and weekly gigging, down time isn't an option.

Yes I do understand in this case I should always have a backup, but I'm still paying down a few PA speakers, westone iems, dual wireless iem system, a Midas mixer and just purchased a backup amp and backup tubes for a PRS Custom 50 and a Mesa Road King (at a total of 2 rectifier tubes, 8 power tubes and 10 preamp tubes). Needless to say: that part of finances is stretched too thin already.

The Mode switch is taking you into Stomp mode and you don't have anything assigned to the bottom stomps. This is the expected behavior. I'm not exactly sure what behavior you're expecting from the Mode switch, but what you're describing isn't unexpected.

That’s not unexpected behavior. The Mode switch is toggling between Preset and Stomp Mode. You have Preset Mode set to 4 Stomps/4 Snaps. You have assignments for the 4 bottom footswitches in stomp mode, but none for the top 4. So when you go into Stomp Mode, those bottom four are just blank.

It’s possible something else is happening, and I’m misunderstanding. Any chance you can put a video up?

OK, you’ll need to open up a support ticket then. You should still be under warranty. I don’t know if you purchased the extended warranty they started offering, but one of the options with that had Line 6 providing you a replacement unit while you’re unit is getting fixed.

I am unable to obtain the original purchase receipt from guitar center. Their system must be horribly out dated. Apparently they don't know how to track an item that was purchased and returned to their store before I came to purchase it. Being its 2017 and well.... technology and stuff.... I find this rather absurd.

All I have is my used receipt from guitar center and am out of luck unless line 6 is able to track information via the serial number.

I'm going to open a ticket and see what, if anything, can be done within reason.

I had similar flakey operation on footswitch 11 after a year. I held the button in and rotated it a good few turns and it's been ok since last February. Not sure on the mechanics of the switch or whether this cleaned a contact, but it worked for me

I'll give it a go.

I really wish I could have gotten the original receipt. I really like that extended warranty option. Disappointed there's no way to track down via, what should be, an organized digital file system.

That should have taken up what? About 345KB... hmph.

I have every set list, every student, every file ever created from day one of 11 years ago starting self employment.
