kritmen
Hi all - Long story short, I've been running cheap, non Phantom using mic straight into the DL4 which goes OUT to a Boss VE20 which goes OUT to my PA. This was working fine until I bought a nicer Phantom Powered Shure 87a. With that signal chain I can't power the mic appropriately and when I run the chain as: Shure 87A IN to VE20 w/Phantom Power enabled OUT to DL4 OUT to PA I get some strange feedback loops/sound issues. Thoughts on what the problem could be? I know that professional artists use the pedal for vocals so it must be able to handle the Phantom Power somewhere/somehow. Having done research it looks like some people use a Behringer ULTRA-DI DI400P Passive Direct Box. If you think that may be a solution, where would this apply in the mic to pedal chain? Thanks a ton in advance for the help. I'm at the finish line with my set up and look forward to having things working right! -Kirt
psarkissian
DL4 is an instrument level signal device and not designed for use with phantom power. Phantom power is meant for use with condenser mics.
