andylevinemail
So I was jamming with a bass player and vocalist and trying to figure out if there was a way to get all 3 going simultaneously. No active pickups. Is there a way to have 2 instruments and a microphone at the same time? What inputs, signal flow and output settings. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. !!!!!!! dragonfet
You could try to use the FX returns as additional inputs, but routing and mixing will be a bit unintuitive.
jaminjimlp
You should be able to make three separate paths make the input on each path separate like guitar on first path then microphone on second path and then auxiliary input on a third path all of them out putting to Main.... Should even be able do a 4th path with a variax with a vdi cable And be able to balance the volume of each with the output on its path
hal3001
Check out the templates that come with the Helix. I believe it's the last page of presets in the editor. There is an example of doing just that. I've done two guitars and microphone before but you are very limited to the effects and cabs that can be used. It definitely does work. You also didn't mention which Helix you have. I've done it with the helix rack and 2x G90s. Both G90s going into individual returns and the microphone in the XLR. jws1982
Your bass player could use a sansamp, m9, etc... before the helix. Then they could go into the aux-in from that. It would free up some DSP, give them foot access to some effects, and work better than plugging an instrument straight into the aux-in. andylevinemail
Thanks for the replies. I have the floor unit ( not the LT) with 2.3 ( I guess 2.5 came out like yesterday or something) - I guess I'm also not sure how the active pickup input works or if there s an adjustment that would allow it to be used with a regular guitar. Also, someone has a youtube post where they say they have 2 mics and two instruments and I couldn't understand how they got two mic's. ( acoustic. bass and 2 mic's) But yeah, of course I forget about the templates-- so Ill check those--- thanks
