Input....SAME or VARIAX ?

The title say`s it all really, which input source are you using... SAME or Variax.

I`m using an american strat with fat 50`s and the SAME input seems to overdrive the input stage, sometimes not very nicely, and the VARIAX seems to take something away, can I not just have one somewhere inbetween ? lol.

I`ve read so much on this input source thing it just ain`t funny (a lot of heated discussions as well).

Thanks.

T.

Same is intended for Dual Amp patches so you can drive both chains...When you use the Same setting on a single Amp patch, the signal increases by about +6 db...This is actually useful for some amp models to get a bit more break up with the drive lower...The Park is one of the models I use the same setting on...However, there are some FX that model clipping and you can overdrive the FX block model much like you would the real thing if you actually manage to double the output of your guitar...Anyway, best thing to do is use your ears...no rules, just basic guidance.

I think you answered your own question.

"the SAME input seems to overdrive the input stage,"

You can always add the things you lose when you remove "same", but you can never clean up what is dirtied when using "same".

Ultimately, the answer lies within you, based on what your needs are. No one can actually decide for you. We can only lay out the facts.
