gerardio
I'm using my HD500 effects only with FX Loops (no amp modeling) going into my Mesa using the 4CM method. Few issues that I'm having. The tempo tap is making a noise when it blinks through the amp (is this normal, and if so, how to silence the tap tempo). Also, when using the HD500 as a M13, does the noise gate actually work in the traditional sense, or is it only effectlive when using it within the HD500 and amp modeling. phil_m
Hearing a noise from the tap tempo isn't really normal. I suspect that it might have something to with a ground loop and the 4CM. Do you have the amp and the HD500 plugged in the same power strip? As far as the noise gate, the noise gate is simply an effect that can be put in any effect block. It will remain active as long as its turned on. It doesn't matter if you have the amp model on or not.
stumblinman
I thought there was an option to turn off the light on the tap tempo button in the setup menu.
phil_m
You can turn the tap tempo LED off it you want. The option to do so is on page 2 of the setup menu. I was only saying that hearing a noise associated it with it isn't necessarily expected behavior.
gerardio
Hey Phil, Thanks for the response. The HD500 and AMP are plugged into the same outlet (I assume that's what you are referring to). I'll check out the setup options again. It didn't seem like hearing the noise would be normal. I'll have to play around with it a bit more.
