Newbie Snapshot Question

After downloading a patch, with snapshots, and copying to a preset in the Helix - how can you tell how many snapshots with content there are?  And, how does one go about tweaking the parameters?

Just got the unit and am flailing my way through this thing.

Thanks for any help you provide.......!

The only way I know to see what is in the snapshots is to switch between them. Set your unit to Snapshot Footswitch Mode to do this.

The unit should have come with an Owner's Manual that you can read on a computer, but if not, download it from here: https://line6.com/support/manuals/helix

It's worth taking half an hour to skim through it, as it explains how to set that footswitch mode (page 11) and how to adjust snapshot-specific settings (page 35).

I would strongly suggest you download the manual just to expediate things. See page 35.

The quick answer is, there are 8 possible snapshots. Unless they have been retitled from what the default title is (Snapshot 1, 2, 3, etc.), you would just have to monitor the patch as you switched Snapshots in order to see if they have any "content".

To tweak, go to the snapshot you want to tweak. Assign the parameters you want to tweak to "Snapshots" by right clicking them and selecting Snapshots. There are two different modes in which Snapshots are saved. In one mode, you have to save the snapshots (just save the patch, that saves the Snapshot) before you can go to another one or you will lose the changes you made. In the other mode you can edit each snapshot and move on to the other snapshots you want to edit and you will not lose whatever edits you made in the other snapshots. Of course, again, to save the snapshots, just save the patch. You do, no matter what mode you use, need to  do that before you move to another patch.
