tjbassoon
When using an instrument other than guitar (so like, vocals, or in my case bassoon) I think using the tube pre is maybe a good option for sound coloration and EQ, especially if an amp/cab block is not preferred. Question is would the tube pre be best before or after effects? Or would it be good more in the middle of the signal chain like Gain Effects > Tube Pre > Modulation/Delay/Reverb ? What are some good uses and placement for the tube pre?
j_hotch
The best answer is: whatever sounds good to you! That said, I like to add the tube pre at the end of the chain, but before reverb, to give me a chance to normalize volume, add some warmpth, etc. Good luck!
