fafricano
Hey All - I'm a new Line6 user and just recently purchased a POD HD500X. I can't install the drivers on my MacBook Pro. I've downloaded and installed License Manager and registered my laptop. I downloaded and installed Monkey and updated it to the latest version. Monkey is saying I'm missing drivers - along with USB Firmware - but whether I download and install the drivers via Monkey or manually from the downloads support section, after rebooting my laptop I'll open Monkey and will still be missing the drivers. Any thoughts?
blekenbleu
Welcome, fafricano - You did not mention what version of macOS. For High Sierra (10.13) and newer, Apple is very shirty about signed drivers, which Line 6 are not. Before directly installing the driver, open System Preferences>Security and watch for a red alert that you will need to accept for driver installation to proceed. Vegeta920
I've got the same problem, and I've no idea how to fix it. I've tried to change settings on my Mac by accepting for driver installation to proceed, but the problem remained. And my Line 6 Monkey shows just exactly the same as Fafracano's. BTW my macOS version is 10.14.3. If anyones knows? Thanks.
fafricano
I'm also running MacOS 10.14.3 I was able to fix this by going to System Preferences --> Security & Privacy after running the driver installation and there was a prompt for me to allow the drivers. The next time I launched Monkey the drivers were marked as updated. I was then able to update the Firmware and Flash Memory (after a couple of failure messages saying my POD was disconnected, which wasn't the case). 1
Andybellismusic
I'm also struggling with this... I'm trying to install drivers for my Toneport UX 1 to my iMac. It goes through the installation process, tells me it was successful, then prompts to restart.. I do all of this then open up my Line 6 Monkey and it still says drivers need installing. I've done this 6 times now and I still can't use the Toneport.

joel_brown
Seems like every couple months it's the same post about MacOS. This has been answered so many times I almost remember the the answer off the top of my head and I've never owned anything Mac. A couple of searches for past posts about this and you'll find the answer.
joel_brown
macOS 10.13 and 10.14 has implemented an additional security layer for kernel extension drivers, such as the Line 6 audio drivers. After the Line 6 device is connected, the customer must open the Security Control Pane and accept the Line 6 driver in order for the device to be recognized. Typically, but not always you'll see this message when your driver gets blocked, or is not available for use with your DAW: However, sometimes the driver gets blocked and the message won't appear. Your driver and hardware simply won't work. In either case, you'd need to approve the driver in System Preferences > Security & Privacy: Additional information about this change can be found at https://developer.apple.com/library/content/technotes/tn2459/_index.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/DTS40017658 For some cases if the "Allow" button does not change anything, or the "Allow" button does NOT disappear after clicking. Please try these steps: Go into: System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Select 'All Controls'. Then: Go back to System Preferences > Privacy & Security > Press 'Tab' until 'Allow' is selected > Press 'Spacebar'. Note: the Privacy & Security page may need to be unlocked before 'Tab' will work.
ebrobston
I'm having the same problem, and I followed all the instructions. I feel like it's 1988 again, and I'm trying to install an MS DOS application. I keep uninstalling and reinstalling, but keep getting the same result (or lack thereof). exyl2009
This also happens to me, installing drivers through line6 monkey and after installing it still won't recognize the driver. what i did is: 1. unplugged my POD HD500 from my mac 2. reinstall driver from line6 monkey 3. restart my macbook 4. after restart, i did not run line6 monkey yet, instead i connect my POD HD500 to my Mac 5. to my suprise my mac recognize my POD HD500 in the sound system preference. 6. I run line6 monkey and line6 monkey recognize my POD HD and the driver. Hope that this fix yours as well Im using LINE6 POD HD500 to a Macbook macOS Mojave 10.14.
