2 different amps on the same preset

Hello all,

1st time post and considering getting an HX Stomp.  I’ve read through some of the forums and read some reviews and I am really liking what I’ve seen/read.  My question is though, can you have 2 amp blocks on one preset?  For example, say for a clean I want to use a Fender block, but for my crunch/dirty tone can I use a Marshall block and be able to switch between the 2 via one of the 3 foot switches.  I apologize if this has been discussed somewhere else, but I have not seen it.  Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes - this is easy... providing the stomp does not run out of horsepower with two amps loaded along side the other effects you want/need.

  • Insert the two amp/cab block in series (one after the other)
  • Turn one amp block on... turn the other one off
  • Now assign both to the same footswitch.

Now when you push the footswitch it will switch one amp block off while switching the other one on with every push of the button... voila, amp switching :)

Just to chime in .... it's stupidly easy to do.

However, amp blocks are just about the most power hungry thing you can use so you typically do not have a whole lot more you can throw on there beyond that.

I don't necessarily think that should discourage you though. Especially with snapshot control options, there's a lot of sound possibilities even if all you use is the Stomp.

When I run two amps, I have external compressors/distortions running before the HX Stomp and an external Reverb running after the Stomp. This frees up DSP enough for me to use a delay, modulation, EQ, etc. In the Stomp.

Thank you gents for the input!  I am really look h forward to getting one. I’m torn between the Stomp and the LT.  I think for now, I’m gonna try the Stomp and maybe expand to the LT or the full floor model eventually.  I do want it more for the amp modeling than the effects, but I’m also looking forward to the effects as well.
