nabzblitz
So I've been using my UX2 with POD Farm without a hitch until recently this started happening. I don't know what caused it but it seems I can't use POD Farm anymore. Line 6 Monkey and Line 6 License Manager both can detect my UX2, my drivers and USB firmware are up to date (green ticks next to both in Monkey) and they're all authorized in License Manager. Windows also detects it as it's there in the sound options for both playback and recording devices. I should also mention that it still works on Ableton Live, and can actually detect and record sounds. I also connected the UX2 directly to my USB port, and not to a hub. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and POD Farm, all to the latest version and still nothing. Please help. Information about my laptop: - Windows 8.1 64-bit - Intel Pentium Core Duo - 4GB RAM
TheRealZap
try windows update? I want to say that it uses the 2008 C++ or some other optional language addon.... just an idea..
BigChas52
Are you using a USB 3 port? UX2 is USB 1.1 and operation tends to be spotty (if it works at all) with a USB 3 port.

Alright I'll give it a try and let you know. Are you using a USB 3 port? UX2 is USB 1.1 and operation tends to be spotty (if it works at all) with a USB 3 port. Nope I'm using a USB 2 port. The weird thing is it was working fine before so I'm not sure why it just stopped. Also since it works fine with Monkey, License Manager and Ableton I don't think it's the port's problem, though I guess anything could happen.. nabzblitz
UPDATE: Windows Update doesn't work either. :/ Also, I just realized that if I bring up the Driver Console from POD Farm, it says "Driver operating at: (inactive)" under Driver Format. Is that normal?
wcmexbm
If you use the UX2 as your main sound card (for web playback, music player etc...) Windows may have re-assigned your preference to another sound card driver. As an example, I use a Mackie Firewire driver for my I/O and also for my windows sound playback. But occasionally, the Mackie drivers will fail to load on system start-up at which point windows automatically re-assigns to my Pod HD300 drivers as default. Go to control panel- hardware and sounds- manage audio devices and make sure that the Line6 UX2 is ticked as your preference.

I already tried setting it to my default playback device and setting my Realtek HD Audio as default with the UX2 still active but still not working. Is there anything else I can do? nabzblitz
So I'm not sure why, but I tried using another amp modelling software and it works, it works in my DAW as well, so it's just Podfarm. Does anyone have any ideas? I really prefer using Podfarm since I'm already used to it.
TheRealZap
did you authorize the UX2 and not just the computer?
nabzblitz
did you authorize the UX2 and not just the computer? You mean with License Manager? Yeah I'm pretty sure I did. Although, I just noticed that in Monkey, POD Farm isn't there but POD Farm 2 is. Is that normal?
TheRealZap
typically they are both in monkey as an option. i see thats not the case from your screenshot. I'd open a support ticket on that one, as i've not seen it before. http://line6.com/company/contact/

Sadly I don't own it and I'm running it on free trial. Looks like the problem is somehow because Monkey doesn't have POD Farm in its list of applications. I guess opening a support ticket is my only option then?
nabzblitz
Turns out, POD Farm 1 isn't supported by Windows 8. So my only option is to get POD Farm 2. I guess.. problem solved.. lol.
nabzblitz
Bumping this. This problem happened to me again. POD Farm was running fine for the past few days and then today the same error came up. Obviously I was shocked and horrified, because I was already halfway done doing a song. But I found the solution, for anyone else having this issue. In the Preferences > Hardware tab, select "Auto-Detect" at the "Launch POD Farm Using:" section. I'm not sure why, but right after that I could use POD Farm normally again. Current computer specs: Windows 10 Professional 64-bit AMD FX 4300 8GB RAM
