Problems With Fbv Mkii

Hi all

 

Just bought a used FBV MKII for use with my HD147, when I connect it up using the CAT-5 Cable none of the LED's light up, the A B C D buttons work but there are no LED's and th tuner doesnt work either, the display shows "FBV SB MKII" and nothing else

 

reflashed sucessfully and tried a few different CAT-5 cables without and sucess.

 

Any ideas?

check the ports on both, potentially you have a damaged jack.

Thanks I'll do that, do you know which pins on the cat 5 the FBV actually uses?

not positive, i know its not standard...

Checked the pins on the fbv and the amp and they both look fine

it sounds like a pin issue... but perhaps it just a defective FBV.

Open up ur computer/Laptop

and dial it in thru the midi in/out , you will be able to dial in if the amp is even registering it in the first place

Does the line 6 rj45 cable use all 8 pins or only 4? My cable only has 4 wires, could this be the issue?

I thought you tried different cables... certainly want one with all 8 pins.

Tried 2 cables but both were 4 wire. Just tried an 8 wire one and it all works. What a dummy:-)
