Editing One Patch Affects Multiple Patches

Hello - 

 

I've recently experienced a quirky problem. 

 

I tend to edit patches and name them for each song in a set. I use the Mac interface much of the time and utilize "copy" and "paste" quite a bit when creating new patches. 

 

Since many of the basics of my tone come from similar effects and routing, it's helpful for me to create a patch and then make copies that have different tap tempos, OD's, reverbs, etc..

 

I typically create groups of patches for our worship sets (4-5 songs means 4-5 patches). 

 

I noticed on a couple of occasions, changing (for example) the reverb on patch 23A, makes the identical change to patches 23B, 23C, 23D, etc.. 

 

It goes the other way too. Any edit to one makes the same edit to the group. 

 

I get around it by starting over on a new user bank and start with a low number patch like (01A). 

 

Anyone else experience this?

Nope.  I do that stuff all the time and I've never had a problem with it.  But I do rename the patch once I copy it, so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.  I know the patches each maintain the patch name internally so that even if you rename a patch that's been exported, once you import it will have the original name.  That might have something to do with what might be affecting you.

Is it possible that you are confusing patches with snapshots? Perhaps your footswitch layout is defined to switch between snapshots within a preset rather than presets within a bank? Check your Global Settings -> Footswitches.

That's the only thing I could think of to explain this.
