M5 - Are They All Faulty?!

Hello,

I have had my M5 for a few years now. It has the fault where upon boot up, the screen will flash. I have tried the suggestions: sand paint off around the screw holes, use unpainted screws etc. It still has the fault. I have to plug in the power multiple times to get it work. I live with it.

Yesterday, I bought a new M5 for use in a 2nd rig. IT HAS THE SAME ISSUE!

I really like the M5. It does exactly what I need. I don't want to look at another pedal from another manufacturer.

Are the majority (or even all) the M5s faulty?!

Thanks in advance.

If they were all faulty Line 6 couldn't afford to sell them as they would actually be losing money. I sold mine quite awhile ago, but I never had any issues with it. What power supply are you using with it?

Thanks for the reply! I am using the power supply provided by Line 6 with the M5.

You make a good point. That's what I thought as well. Then I bought a new one with the same issue as my old one.

Going to try another unit. Waiting for it to deliver. There is obviously some percentage that is affected by this issue though.

I really hope I find a working unit. There is nothing that is midi controlled, small and affordable like the M5 that I know of.
