I'm straight into a clean valve amp with no effects loop. Yeah, I know, he uses a mix of amps sprinkled with fairy dust and unicorn blood, but I just want to get as close as I can with the HXE - cheers. Kevin-M Posted October 4, 2019 Share Posted October 4, 2019 I’d start by researching what gear (effects) he uses first and then see what models of those effects you have on the HXE. The Diezel and Marshall amp combination that I think he uses are pretty damn nice sounding, but would be very pricey. Diezel does make a VH-4 distortion pedal which sounds great, imo. codamedia Posted October 4, 2019 Share Posted October 4, 2019 When I called up the video... outside of the effects it sounded like a Marshall Super Lead to me (eg: Plexi).... and even if it isn't, I know I could get that "basic" tone with one.
