middle tone pod hd500x trouble

I use this device not so long ago, about 3 months. But noticed such a problem. When connected in line (remote beringer XR18, and several others). The sound is initially deaf and requires a large number of equalizers on pod hd 500x. As well as the longer you play, the less midrange and more high and low. What options can I try to resolve these issues? Maybe it's mechanical failure, maybe capacitors or resistors are out of order?

both of your problems may or may not be a problem.

correct. any time you plug in from one device to another device, you are going to need to make eq adjustments.

correct. it is called ear fatigue. the tone coming from the device is the same. your ears are just worn out and are perceiving it differently.

**unless you are using tube amps, then the sound of the amps will change as the tubes heat up.

Thanks for the answer.
I know I need to adjust the equalizer when connecting to different devices. Only here the equalizers are not enough for full adjustment. But this can be adjusted by the equalizer of the mixing console.
And about the drawdown in the middle I will try to check on the frequency analyzer. Not to be unfounded
But I've been playing for about 20 years and I used to trust my ears. The decrease in average frequencies is significant. When playing through the guitar Cabinet, there is no such thing. The whole question is in the setup and operation when playing the line. Played in different lines. And when playing with headphones, the decrease in midrange frequencies is also obvious. Begins minutes through 15-20 and becomes all more and more.
There is a sense of malfunction of some capacitor. There was a similar issue on another device (but there was a volume issue. The sound grew fainter. After replacing the capacitor there everything was decided. There is a feeling that there is some faulty capacitor responsible for the average frequency and it fell into disrepair.

I wrote to the support service and will try to install the old firmware to see how it will sound with them.
This is the tech support Board.
Tried different connection options. 1/4 output and balanced output. The problem is the same

As you already suspected your issue seems to be hardware related.

This is not a tech support board, but simply a forum attended by common users.
If you want to speak with the official Line6 support guys you have to open a support ticket in the dedicated section of this site and wait for their reply with instructions.

But given the described symptoms much likely they will suggest to bring your unit to an authorized service center close to you.

Your unit issue could be due to one of several malfunctioning things: capacitors, integrated circuits, etc.

I suggest to check also the power supply, at times it could simply be the real culprit.

Any 9V DC, 3A (3000mA) Plug length: 15mm, Diameter: 5mm, Center Pin (negative): 2.5mm power supply will do the job..

3A (3000mA) are necessary only if your unit is powering also a Variax, otherwise 1100mA (or more) for the POD alone should suffice:

original DC-3G:

.and below here a tested working good and cheap alternative:

Любое 9В постоянного тока, 3А (3000мА) Длина штекера: 15 мм, Диаметр: 5 мм, Центральный контакт (отрицательный): 2,5 мм блок питания сделает работу ..

3A (3000 мА) необходимы только в том случае, если ваше устройство питается также от Variax, в противном случае должно хватить 1100 мА (или более) для одного POD:

Оригинальный DC-3G:

.и ниже здесь проверенная рабочая хорошая и дешевая альтернатива:

Decided to this question. Replaced three capacitors, near guitar in. I attach schematically where it is. He did not take pictures when repaired. now everything is normal, the midrange is not lost
capacitors have shown at the declared parameters 10 microfarads - 5, 4,6 and 7 microfarads replaced everything works normally.1043246515_line6pod.jpg.9b70646f20939df2308fade7a5f0c666.jpg

Excellent!..Thanks for reporting how you solved your issue with the POD.. it will be very useful to others who have the same or similar problem you had..

Interestingly a guy recently also reported that he solved a similar issue with its HD300 by replacing the capacitors in the pre-amplifier of the guitar input, and he added also come detailed pics, his post is here: POD HD 300 problem

Addition to solving the problem.
After some time, after replacing the capacitors, again began to disappear MIDs and volume decrease. I, on the advice of hurghanico, checked the power supply again. And saw that the voltage at the output to 13.7 Volts!!!! Then I changed the power supply and the problem was solved. So check the power supplies first!
And before doing a check of the power supply, but not an hour after turning on, and when he lay unconnected 5-6 hours.
Now there are no complaints. Everything works fine!
