Need Phantom Power device for the Mic ...HD500X

Hi, 

To be able to use my microphone ROde NTA-1 with the HD500X i'm forced to buy a 48V Phantom Power device for the Mic ... I ask myself which is better : buy an other little audio interface for the mic or a phantom power ???

Which phantom power device could be great ?

But is the HD500X mic input is enough good for vocals ?

It is usable for vocals. 

 

is it good enough??? well, that depends on what you need it to do.

i mean, as amazing as the unit is for a guitar, there are things that it just doesn't do for the guitar. vocals effects are far less abundant in the device. so, the vocal usage is going to be far more limited. 

 

if I was looking for a dedicated vocal device, this is not what I would use. 

But it is usable for vocals.

well, it is not as exceptional as a Neve pre amp

...but it is on par with the pre-amps found on most common audio interfaces currently on the market..

and in the POD there are a few FXs which work very well for the voice.
