oehman
I'm looking to upgrade my floor monitor that I use for my vocals & HD500. I currently have a behringer B210D. Love the compact size and 19lb weight. It's pretty good for vocals. But the HD500 sounds pretty awful through it. It seems to have a low-mid frequency hump to it, and a harshness that makes the amp models feel cold and digital. Dialing back the lows on the B210D or Eq'ing the Aux send doesn't help much and takes away from the quality of the vocal EQ. My mains are EV ZLX12p. The HD500 sounds ok through them. But they are just too big and overkill for the volume I gig at. I guess the L2 would be good option, but too big and expensive for my set up. Ideally, I'd like a monitor with an 8" or 10" speaker. I have a DT-25 that is the perfect match for the HD, but want a simple set up for the acoustic/electric duo I'm currently in.
Charlie_Watt
I am using the EV ZLX12p and I really like the sounds I am getting from it. I have the volume fairly low in my music room and it's very clean.
oehman
Just wish there were a 10" version of the ZLX 12p !

oehman
Picked up a clearance Electrovoice ZXA1. It has an 8" sub, but plenty of volume and low end. I actually kicked in the high pass filter because it had too much low end for a monitor. It is about the same size and weight as the Behringer B210D. But definitely not as harsh sounding for electric and distorted guitar sounds from the Pod.
