I recently sold my second Helix Floor to try a Kemper floor  ..it was good but not suitable for my use ...I  purchased a Helix LTE ultra dated the software to the latest  Dec 2019. Then up loaded a full backup I had from march  in 2019 from my old floor unit ... but I have to say it does not sound the same !!! Its more compressed and some sounds are scooped now levels different.  Just not good ....thinking of going back to the full floor again although I love the layout of the lite really like it ..anyone else had problems with  sharing between these units ?

Well, there's no such producr as a "Helix LTE Ultra", so I'm going to assume you're just talking about the Helix LT... The LT and the Floor sound exactly the same. First, I'd say without having both units in front of you to actually compare, basing comparisons entirely on your memory is shaky. Your brain does a very bad job at recalling specific sounds even after a few seconds, so after a few months or so, all bets are off. The other thing I'd say is that there are a number of Global Settings that affect the way the units sound, so it's entirely possible that some of those are different between the two units (although, the Global Settings should come through when you restore from backup).

Did you do a factory reset prior to loading your backup?

Yes it does...those old patches you loaded are just algorithms, doing the exact same thing today that they did months ago. The biggest variable in subjective evaluations of tone is you. We are not machines...perception is notoriously fickle, and highly variable even from one day to the next, never mind months apart. And our memories are even worse... we like to think they're fixed, but they're not. They change, too.

I've been using Helix daily for well over 2 years at this point, with no gaps experimenting with other gear.  Sometimes, if I bring up on old patch that I haven't used in a while, quite often my initial reaction is "This is awful, what f*** was I thinking?"...and that's on the same hardware, with the same monitors, in the same room, same guitars. But as far as my perception is concerned, I'm not exactly the same as I was last week, last month, or last year... and neither are you. It's like trying to compare a steak you're eating right now to one you had in 1997...it can't be done in any meaningful way.
