Grecoaudio
My HD500 is flashing between the Line6 LOGO and a black screen!! Does it need to be repaired? Do I need to update firmware? If so what downloads do I need to accomplish the firmware update? I was trying to program edit this via the on pod screen but I guess this is a good time to become familiar with programming via Edit.... hurghanico
Given fo granted that you have already installed the Line6 driver (necessary to make the POD and computer communicate to each other) and the Monkey app in your computer, do the following: - power on the unit while holding the down nav key - the UPDATE FLASH writing will appear on the POD screen - connect the unit to your computer through USB - the unit should be recognized by the operating system, otherwise it is not possible to continue and finish the procedure - run the Monkey app, select FLASH MEMORY and press REINSTALL LATEST when the firmware reinstalling is done, do a Global reset (power on the unit while holding the left nav key), and finally do a pedal calibration _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
Grecoaudio
Powered up while holding down the Nav key and got the UPDATE FLASH message but was unable to connect via usb with the monkey and I did install the driver as well. Computer for some reason doesn't see the HD500.
hurghanico
Check if the POD USB port is fine (check also your USB cable), if it is broken there is no way to do the procedure described previously. (I and several other POD users had to replace the USB port at some point, unfortunately it breaks easily) But you could try to do only the Global Reset (power on the unit while holding the left nav key), who knows maybe it is able to unblock your unit. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
Grecoaudio
I will try the reset with the Nav Key, cable is good as it previously was connected to an interface. USB connector is good.. Standby. If I have a USB to Midi Adapter is it possible to flash the unit via MiDI?

The only way to flash the unit is via USB.. If your POD USB port and USB cable are fine, maybe that the driver hasn't be installed properly. I see often in this forum posts by users who have driver/unit recognition problems with Win10 or macOS Mojave. Do a search and maybe you'll find some useful advices in that regard. Personally I'm still running most of my music programs on Win XP, since I don't like all Microsoft OSes from Win 8 onwards. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips

JulianGidN
Hi all, I have exactly the same problem. After connecting, the LINE6 logo and the black screen appear alternately. 2 days ago I could still adjust my sets on the computer via POD HD 500 Edit. Now my computer no longer recognizes the hardware. I would be very grateful if you can share your solution. I uploaded a short video on youtube:
