Lone_Poor_Boy
EDIT: this would only be used for goofing around with a bass player to try different FX. I plan to build my own but always like to see someone's framework first. I plan to setup for two people playing at the same time, totally separated, one electric guitar, one electric bass, both coming in 1/4" inputs. I'll likely be using both 1/4" and XLR outs for both instruments to feed amps (1/4") and PA (XLR). Related question: I planned to mainly power the bass by running Helix into a basic bass amp. Ampeg Rocket Bass B-100R, into the 1/4"; 0db or -15db. I was also going to split into the Fishman SA-330x PA w/sub. Would a bass sound ok through this PA, post Helix, since it has the sub? Would bass 'overwhelm' a PA of that type? Guitar will be split as I normally do: 60% Powercab 112+; 40% Fishman PA.
rd2rk
Here's what the mfr says about their own product: The SA330x is the go-to portable PA/amplifier for voice, playback and amplified acoustic instruments. Unlike many other similar-looking systems, the SA330x is built around a uniquely configured 2-way speaker system that delivers all the sweetness and definition of a great studio monitor. Ruggedly built and with plenty of power, the SA330x is the perfect solution for amazing sound in small and medium-sized venues. Tuned beautifully for voice and acoustic instruments, the new SA330x, alone or as part of an expanded system, allows anyone looking to fill a small to medium sized room, corporate display, club or similar sized venue with great, Fishman-quality sound. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If I was looking for a PA to do what you're planning, I wouldn't get this one. BUT - if you're planning on using it for lite rock/blues, jazz or folk, at dinner club volumes, it might be just fine. Attached is a sample preset. It's essentially a 'template" for all my dual instrument presets, I just swap out effects as needed. On Path A I'm sending the guitar left to my PC112+, and right out the XLR to a HR FRFR112. Path B is bass out the XLR to the other FRFR112 input. LPB.hlx
Lone_Poor_Boy
RD2RK, Thank you very much for the preset! I should have noted this would only be used to goof around with a bass player friend to try Helix FX. I got some ideas from a John Entwhistle video the other day. As you implied, I would not want to run a bass through this Fishman.
