Hi all!

So i'm having problems getting helix editor. I bought a Helix LT unit a few months ago but have only recently got a new laptop, last night i attempted to download the most recent version of the Helix editor software but i quickly got confused by the sheer number of downloads on the line6 page. Which version of the editor do i need to download? do i just download the most recent full version and if so, what is it called? or do i have to download the first version of the editor plus all subsequent updates? any help would be massively appreciated as i'm pretty  confused at this point.

Hi,

Lots of people come here in sheer panic usually stating things like “update bricked my Helix!” and such like. Therefore please note that when asking for assistance from the forum users, it’s a really big help to know details of your computer operating system, etc.

Anyhow, as your issue is slightly different, it will be easier for me to point you to where you need to go.

Follow this link and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER, ESPECIALLY ANY THING IN RED TEXT.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

I just want to back up a bit because you're missing some information in your post.  What version of the Helix firmware are you currently running?  If you tried to download HX Edit 2.92 and you're running an earlier version of the firmware it won't work.  The firmware and the HX Edit program need to be in sync.

That being said your best bet is to upgrade everything to 2.92 since it's the most simple process.  For that, you only need to download HX Edit 2.92 and then run the download file.  That will walk you through the install of all the correct components so that everything is working correctly..nothing else needs to be downloaded.

Follow the instructions step by step and you won't have any problems.
