argeno
I recently bough and registered Line 6 UX1 went into cubase and started recording with UX1 drivers set as a device ...after a while i noticed clipping sound and some sounds started to cut out. Okay i thought it's probably that i got too high buffer set so i set it as low as i can but it still made no difference at all. I loaded Asio4All as device in cubase with previously recorded track on UX1 and there was no need of reducing buffer and there was no cuts at all , What might be the case ? Also i noticed that ux1 doesn't properly record my pinch harmonics( i mean the wild ones with a lot of vibratto ) ,as normally plugged into amp i hear them cleanly , even without plugging a guitar i can hear them nicely but when recording instead of a wild harmonics ( not just a standard like Judas Priests do on a string without bending it -cuz they make no problem ) i hear a strange sound that doesn't sound anyway like a pinch sounds on my normal amp or on my acoustic, that's the same question What might be the case ? Thanks in advance - cheers :)
phil_m
Well, ASIO4ALL isn't a supported Line 6 driver. A lot of people have reported having problems while using it. I'd recommend running Line 6 Monkey and making sure you have all the latest Line 6 drivers installed.
argeno
I got all drivers up to date , and i don't know if u got the point cuz i'm reporting a problem while using Line6 driver.

Well, you weren't clear about that. One thing I always do when using my UX2 is to make sure my internal sound card is disabled. I also disable my wireless network adapter. Those seems to be the most common sources of conflict that lead to unwanted noise.
argeno
Yeah my fault i already edited the post. I will try that but you say unwanted noise ,but the strange thing is that i got cuts i mean like in cubase sound start to make some kind of lag that these parts are just cut out and the sound is not consistnet i read that it's caused by setting buffer too high ,tho i lowered it to maximum and it didn't help ,but while swapping to Asio4All i don't seem to have an issue of cutting parts of sound /
argeno
Disabling sound card actually help thank you :)
argeno
But still there is problem with pinch harmonic and as they don't sound as they should. Any ideas ?
Triryche
If you are comparing what you hear through I real amp compared to POD Farm, it is likely your patch. I couple things to look at, make sure your gate isn't lopping off the initial attack. If you are using high gain amp sims or something like a TS in the chain, too much gain can kill your sound. Do you have any model packs or just the PF standard? Can you post a clip of what your recording?
argeno
I was using mostly PF ... well my problem started again . For some time i get away with disabled onboard sound card and recording with line 6 without clipping .But now again after adding some effect tracks etc. while using playback clipping is still there ( also while using Line 6 UX1 driver ) . I switched drivers to Asio4All and after playbacking it again there is no clipping what so ever and CPU also seems not to be overloaded so much . Can i get any more tips on how to fix that ? Cuz i cannot believe that free asio4all can serve me actually better than ux1 ,so i assume it's something wrong with how i use it. thanks in advance..
