USB audio mixing with guitar signal

Bear with me for a beginner question as I just got my Helix LT today. I have it connected through USB to my laptop. Laptop is sending a track on USB 1/2. Headphone output is set to multi so I get a mix of the laptop track and my guitar signal in the head phones. Problem is, as soon as there is audio coming in from the laptop, my guitar signal drops is volume. Almost like the helix is trying to mix them and align the volumes. But the guitar signal drops too much. Is there any way to prevent this?

I'm using the Floor model which, for this application, is identical.

I loaded LIVE10, dragged an mp3 track to one track and picked a random preset from the factory setlist.

No audio drop. In fact, the balance was perfect.

I also tried just double clicking a track so that it opened in the Windows Media Player, same result.

I suggest:

1) If it hasn't already been done, download and install HX Edit v3.0.

2) Click the little gear thingy in the lower left corner and select "Check for Updates". Open an L6 account if you haven't already, as you'll need to sign in.

3) READ AND FOLLOW THE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS!!!

4) After the update completes, reboot the LT.

Now try it again. Come back if you still have a problem, or just to report SUCCESS!
