halolly
Hi Folks, I am missing the "done" button in the Command Center, maybe it´s immediately saved, ok I am missing the opportunity to save my Footswitch Settings per Snapshot. When I assign a command to a switch it is autoamticallky saved into all other snapshot. Is that the correct behaviour? can I change that. I know what it says in the manual (see screenshot) but that simply does not work; I assign the command "HX Snapshot" with value "Snapshot 2" to FS1 in Snapshot 1, switch to Snapshot 2 and assign value "Snapshot 1" to the same command and footswitch; when I then look at the assignment of Snapshot 1 again it has changed to the value of Snaphot 2 , in other words: no matter what I do it is always changed globally across all snapshots. Thats not the behaviour I was expecting when consulting the manual. Regards, Olly
phil_m
If you have the Snapshot Edits parameter under Global Settings>Preferences set to Discard, you have to re-save the preset after making changes in a snapshot in the Command Center to have them recalled with that snapshot. If you have it set to Recall, your changes will be saved automatically (at least temporarily until you save the whole preset).
halolly
ok, thanks, but that does not answer the question why I cannot save changes to Snapshots individually
rd2rk
It does appear that when using a Footswitch to change Snapshots, the Footswitch can have only one setting, not be changed per Snapshot. I don't know if that's by plan (could be a logic thing) or a bug.
halolly
the manual says otherwise (check my screenshot) - I opened up a ticket, let´s see what they say
rd2rk
Where does it say in the HX Edit Pilot's Guide that the SNAPSHOTS command can be saved differently PER SNAPSHOT? Yes, the MIDI CC that's sent can be different PER SNAPSHOT, and there may be other commands that work that way, all I'm saying is that the SNAPSHOT command does not appear to work that way, whether by design or otherwise, and I don't see where in the HX Edit Pilot's guide it says that it does. Or are you reading from a different manual?
halolly
"to store your Command Center assignment settings PER SNAPSHOT...." and i´ve seen numerous youtube videos where they explicitly use this feature to store various snapshots to different or even the same FS P.S: current Version of the Pilot´s Guide, page 45,"Configuring Unique Command Values Per Snapshot"

If it's possible, I want to know how to do it!

rd2rk
In that video he is NOT assigning multiple snapshots to the same footswitch, he's using multiple footswitches to select different snapshots. The functions of the Footswitches in Stomp Mode remain the same regardless of the SNAPSHOT you're in. IOW - in Stomp mode, regardless of the SNAPSHOT you're in, each of the Footswitches will always call the same SNAPSHOT assigned to it. You can't assign a single Footswitch to select a different SNAPSHOT in each SNAPSHOT. If you want to select SNAPSHOTS in STOMP MODE, you need to use a separate Footswitch for each SNAPSHOT. So, to get back to your original questions: 3 hours ago, halolly said: When I assign a command to a switch it is autoamticallky saved into all other snapshot. Is that the correct behaviour? Yes. 3 hours ago, halolly said: can I change that. No. As to the DONE button, in the video he's on v2.9. It appears to have been removed in v3.0. Since it's only function was to close the CommandCenter screen (NOT save the settings), and you can do that just by clicking on the main Window, it's unnecessary.
phil_m
I should have read the original post more closely. You can't change the target snapshot for these commands per snapshot. Whatever you assign to the footswitch will remain for the whole preset. This is the same for any of the commands that you assign to a footswitch (except for the MIDI CC, iirc, which you can have a different value per snapshot). I read this on my phone earlier, and didn't look closely at your screenshot. I assumed you were talking about the instant commands. You can have different values for each instant command per snapshot for those.
halolly
yes, you´re absolutely right. I could have sworn that I saw a video in which someone switched back and forth between two snapshots by individually assigning commands per snapshot. But I´ve seen so many videos lately that I can´t tell for sure which it was or if he was really using snapshots. Nevertheless the manual speaks about "Configuring Unique Command Values Per Snapshot" - but I suppose it´s only for MIDI commands. Whatever: I assigned this back and forth method to one switch in different presets, doesn´t make a big difference. but thank you for being so patient with me and having a look at the video, have a nice christmas anyway. rd2rk
I think that MIDI commands, since they're sent to external devices, are handled differently than commands that affect internal functions. Probably to avoid confusing the robot! :-)
