listercoleman
Hi all. I just got out my old Variax 600....which is in fact a very nice playing guitar actually........ and I wanted to add an altered tuning to it. I'm working on a tune and wanted this tuning along with one of the resonator/dobro models. It's been a very long time since I did anything like this with the Variax in the studio and the Workbench software I had previously, was on a computer that has since gone bye bye. I found the download .....but it said it will not install as it is from an "Unidentified developer" or something like that. So I go into my prefs and click on Open Anyway....go through the install auth process, says it's 12mb.....I click to install.........but then it says it can't be installed, because there is no software there to install. Huh?!! Am I just s- - t out of luck or is there a way I can get this software so I can tweak my tunings and get this song done? Thank you. psarkissian
https://line6.com/software/index.html Should be compatible with High Sierra. Make certain you are using the correct interface device that came with the guitar, direct to the computer, and that USB hubs are disconnect during the update. If you still have a problem, log a Support ticket.
listercoleman
Thanks. The first one I had tried was version 1.1. Following your link I found another version as well....1.0. Same deal. Neither will install...same error message. Am I supposed to have the guitar connected when I try to install the Workbench software to the computer? Doesn't seem necessary to me and thinking about it....the 600 was hooked up yesterday when I tried to do the install. It says no software to be found. Weird! psarkissian
800000900 "C" or "A", would be a MIDI time out error,... most common. It's finicky about how you hook it up. Make certain you are using the correct cables and interface device, and no USB hubs connected (a common oversight).
