avibee
I'm wondering if the JTV-69 pickups run through extra circuitry, rather than direct to pots to output jack.? I ask because it seems like the single coil pickups are hotter yet brighter than the pickups on my strat. Thanks much all.
Aavitsland
I don't know, but pups are different. I don't know what kind of magnets, material and windings they used in those. I have humbuckers that are much brighter than some of my sc.
Charlie_Watt
They can go through the digital circuits because you can get them through the VDI cable to the Pod. They also can be completely passive and go to the 1/4 inch jack. I know this because you can do it with no power going to the JTV. The passives work with the battery removed. TxHCBP
Don't know anything about the VDI, but the pups on my 59 are passive, as I can play those with no battery (physically) in the guitar. YMMV
Charlie_Watt
They are passive out the 1/4 inch jack with the battery removed or modeling shut off. They are going through some processing and A/D when they go out the VDI cable. (They have to be since that cable is digital.)
