sbland
Hi all Updated HX edit then the HX effects unit but now my win 7 computer says 'usb device not recognised'. I tried another factory reset but now lost all my presets! Anyone else had this?
silverhead
Have you tried using one of the back panel USB ports on your PC, preferably USB2.0? The front panel ports often have an internal usb hub behind them which can cause communication problems.

Hi, If you followed the instructions, when starting the update procedure, then you will have made a backup file of all your presets that were previously in the unit. Once you can get your computer to connect over the USB again, simply launch HX Edit and run the Restore from Backup option. That should do it. Hope this helps/makes sense. sbland
Silverhead I’m using 2.0 from the back panel but it’s saying the device is malfunctioning. i followed the procedure and backed up. I back up regularly but can’t connect to restore or repeat the whole procedure!

Hi again, I 'm more of a Mac Pilot than Windows, but I did find a comment somewhere about deleting the interlock file for the driver. Here is where it is located, the path is: C:\ProgramData\Line6\HelixInterlock. Delete the HelixInterlock file and then try to reconnect with HX Edit. No sure if this will help, but give it a shot.
silverhead
Have you tried restarting your computer? If the problem persists after that try downloading the firmware file (in the Downloads page select your Helix device in the leftmost data field and Flash Memory in the middle field). Then restart your Helix device, run the Line 6 Updater program (part of the HX Edit installation package) and choose to Update from File. Then select the firmware file you just downloaded.
