dmieczko
Hi guys, I have an old, original Variax 300 that works great with the power adaptor and special cable. However, when installing a battery pack (or even a 9V battery) I get no output at all. Is there a way to check my inside connections to make sure they're right? Is there a spot on the board I can check for DC voltage to see if it's getting the proper 9V? Is there a common issue I can troubleshoot here? Thanks for your help. psarkissian
Probably an intermittent solder point, battery connector to the battery pack,... couple of other things. Beat to leave it to Line 6 authorized service tech. Save yourself time and trouble.
dmieczko
Thanks. I get 9V+ with a 9V battery (or about 6.5V when using the 6-AA pack which is weird) when measuring DC voltage at the end of the battery cable, so I know at least the cable is good. What I do not know is where to test the voltage on the circuit board to make sure the header pins and connectors are good. Also, there appear to be two spots that this battery cable can plug into - one on two different boards. Does someone have a picture of exactly where this battery cable should plug?? Thanks again!!! psarkissian
One or more batteries in the six pack is low, an oxidized connection or leaky battery on the contacts.
