The-Big-Diezel
Original Owner = Helix LT Got HX Edit and did the backup and update. Newb here on updating, got the newest HX Edit, backed up my Helix LT and then it seemed to be going great, walked away and played my new Kemper. Came back and then saw that screen, the HX Edit software had closed and the Helix won't do anything. When I turn on it shows 3.15 as the version, but then = NOTHING Called the Cali tech = 818-699-9480 - The robot hung up on me. WTH I'm in desperate need of this device, have students using it for a show soon, I knew I shoudl've waited until after it but after seeing the Das Bezin modeler I wanted to hear it. Any help would be a life boat at this time. I'm gonna try the Line 6 Updater software now and see if that helps. Thanks

Furthermore read, study and inwardly digest all the Release Notes for the updates. Your big issue here is the fact that v.2.8 firmware involved a major change to the Helix Core which made it appear as if the update had failed - looks like you have discovered that now. Read this. https://helixhelp.com/release-notes/helix/2.80.0 I have said many, many times in these threads that I intended to stop giving the instructions on how to recover from a failed update, so this time I suggest that you simply go to the main section of this Helix forum and type “Boot Error: Entered update mode” into the Search panel in the top right of the menu. From the results you will probably find one of the many previous lists of instructions posted by me, and many other users, who repeatedly supplied the solution on prior occasions. From the v3.15 firmware download page:- My Helix/HX is at version X.XX. Can I go straight to 3.15? Yes, but note that if you're starting from 2.80 or lower, the update will appear to happen twice. This is normal. Anything else I should know? Yes. We STRONGLY recommend performing a factory reset AFTER UPDATING your Helix/HX firmware to 3.15 and THEN RESTORING YOUR BACKUP.(Backing up is part of the update process). Here's how to perform a factory reset. IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP FIRST, AS A FACTORY RESET WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Helix Floor/LT: While holding footswitches 9 & 10 (bottom row, 2 middle switches), turn on Helix Floor/LT Helix Rack: While holding knobs 5 & 6 (2 furthest right knobs below the screen), turn on Helix Rack HX Effects: While holding footswitches 6 & TAP (2 farthest right switches on the bottom row), turn on HX Effects HX Stomp: While holding footswitches 2 & 3, turn on HX Stomp HX Stomp XL: While holding footswitches C & D, turn on HX Stomp Hope this helps/makes sense.
The-Big-Diezel
Thanks for the quick reply. I backed it up so luckily I had a way to recover that. After using the Line 6 Updater, this has been resolved, watching the online video of someone doing it through HX Edit is where I started and didn't see the update needed for each of the software pieces. I've been dialing it in and all is good, Rev Purple might be my favorite so far and I own a VH4 so that was surprising.
