EddieTheTrooper
First of all I'm not sure if I have wrote the title correctly, as some of you may already noticed English is not my strongest point ;) Anyway I have encountered some problems with sound played through Cat via USB. When I connect amp to tablet(or phone) the sound from my mobile device is very quiet. When practicing in 1/2W mode while playing for example music from Spotify I have to turn master volume almost to max. It's even worse. From time to time Cat stops playing music at all. And nothing I can do but wait until he starts playing once more. What I've noticed so far... all these problems occurs while using... let's say "standard" android applications. Not sure if I define these correctly I lack a good term for it, sorry. But what I sorted out is all those problem never occur when using Audio Mobile Studio. When I record something in it with in app metronome i can actually hear that that metronome loud and clear. Don't have to max master volume. Also when I play recorded things they are also at good volume level. Even more. I tried this many times. Cat never stops playing sound from this app. I have never encountered such problem with this app. What I know is that app is using its own audio driver. Maybe this is some clue? I've already contact the support but what do you think about this? Any ideas?
EddieTheTrooper
What I meant by standard android applications is for example Spottily, Youtube, Guitar Pro. They all causes problems. But not Audio Evolution Mobile (I made a mistake in the name of application in previous post, sorry)
rd2rk
I think I mentioned in your other thread that Android is not the best choice for audio apps. I use the same tool for dealing with Androids as I use for Zombies. ;-) I'm running Spotify on my iPhone. I seem to have the opposite problem with the USB level. Spotify has three output levels. I had to use QUIET to be able to hear my guitar, even with the Channel Volume dimed. I've been running it for a half hour now while I eat lunch, no glitches. I tried the YouTube app and Amazon Prime, but neither seem to have a volume control. I guess they assume that your headphone volume control does that. Whatever, I can't get the guitar level loud enough with those two. I DL'd Bandlab, the metronome is plenty loud and the track has an output slider. I played along with Spotify while recording and had no problems, but I haven't got the patience to do this for an hour waiting for it to glitch. I'm currently listening to Spotify, recording from the Cat in Bandlab and editing the Cat with Catalyst Edit glitch-free. IDK what to tell you, got no real problems with my iPhone, but there's no way I'm aware of to control the USB Input level on the Cat unless the streaming app itself has a volume control. As for glitches, I don't want to seem like a species-ist (is that a word?), but Androids suck. Nor am I an Apple fanboi, my iPhone is the only Apple device I allow in my house. Someone once gave me a MBP and after a month I gave it back. The only thing I can suggest is to lower the Cat's Channel Volume while raising the Master to bring up the USB level in relation to the guitar. Good Luck!
