imaginations
Hi, Been a long time user of line 6 products (hd500x, helix floor, wirelesses etc). Im very interested in purchasing the helix native vst for my studio but as i have used it in my colleagues studio. The lag time when opening and especially closing the Gui is deplorable. I urgently needed 2 purchase the software and before going forward needed 2 know if this issue with the Gui would ever be resolved as the issue is a creative workflow killer. Plz email me with a response so i could go ahead with the purchase. Many users on the forums have reported this issue. Just a matter of a google search. Thanks and awaiting an early response. By the way the helix rocks.

If you're expecting an "early response" from a member of Line 6 staff, then you are probably out of luck. Line 6 Staff do not monitor these forums - See the "Welcome to the Line 6 forums!" black banner at the top of this page. When asking other contributors for assistance it is advisable to give as much relevant information as possible, eg: Computer model and current operating system, current DAW version, Native version number etc. No one here can speculate if this is actually an issue with Helix Native, or a fault in the DAW in which it is running. Even if this is a problem with the Native GUI, no one here would know if it will ever be fixed. Line 6 are very tight lipped about what is being worked on. If you have paid for Helix Native and encounter a genuine problem in the software you can raise a ticket with Customer Support to make them aware of the issue. They cannot fix things that they don't know about. I realise you say that you have tried using Native in a colleague’s studio, but you didn't say if you have downloaded the 15 day fully functional trial version to use on your own computer and DAW. Simply complaining that it isn't working how you might expect without trying it fully for yourself is a little odd. I did Google "Native GUI lag" as suggested, and discovered that it has been mentioned on here by some annoyed software developer who described Native in Reaper as "basically unusable". Hmm... it appears the updated version of the plug-in solved the issue in that particular case. Many happy users. Furthermore, I'm not sure who you are expecting to "Plz email me with a response", as you haven't supplied an email contact. Users generally respond to comments by quoting the Original Poster. We are not psychic! Hope this helps/makes sense.
malduroque
I've used Native in Reaper for a couple of years and have no problems to report. As coincidence would have it, I'm starting to log my VSTs with regard to load time and CPU usage in Reaper. On my modest system, Windows 10, Intel Core i5 3470 12GB Ram, Native takes 11 seconds to load and much less than half that to close. By comparison my Arturia synth VSTs take 11-13 seconds to load. My Waves plugins take 5-15 seconds to load depending on the plugin and my Arturia FX collection plugs take 5-10 seconds. Maybe I'm easily sated but I don't find any of these times "deplorable". As an aside I'd like to thank Datacommando for all of the responses and help he's given users over the years. It's appreciated. 1
