Resources for HD Pro and Pro X for Vocals

Hi, Ive had a POD HD Pro X for a while and have just scored a second one (Pro only, not X).. Im looking to use tone for my Bass, and one for my Vox. I have a Behringer FCB1010 Im upgrading with a UnO2 chip to control them both live (metal/punk/industrial/stoner original stuff). I've searched for resources on using the POD for Vox but I cant find much in depth (most of it is, unsurprisingly, guitar focussed). 

 

1. I don't know what factory presets come with it OOTB, but the Pro X I scored second hand and it has a bunch of vocal presets - about two dozen or so -  which are pretty impressive. Im greedy however, and want more. I've searched on the marketplace using the keyword "vocal" but that turns up zilch - cant even find the presets I already have. Can anyone suggest keywords other than "vocal" to search on for presets to download?

 

2. Any good tutorials people can point me to for vocals and /or bass patch setups? (Guitar will do if no good dedicated vox/bass ones)

 

3. Any good tutorials people can point me to for setting up midi for both program and CC? The FCB has 2 expression pedals and I have a mind to use one for vox and one for my bass.

The 4 units are the same, so as long as they are running the same firmware, they will have the same factory presets (see note). There is an entire setlist dedicated to non-electric guitar tone. I would use them as starting templates for my own. Look at them, see what they do and don't do. 

*if memory serves, the X units have 1 factory patch more. 

 

 

 

I would not under any circumstances use anyone's microphone patches (see note). There is simply too much variation in microphones, voice, and desired outcome. The factory patches are a good place to start. But for me, no one is going to build a good tone but myself.   

*other than Silverhead's vocal/guitar splitter.

I get what you're saying about other people's mic patches, perfectly understandable If I was using it for recording and tuning in a unique-to-my-voice tone to studio quality. However, I'm looking at using it live for wild & crazy vocal effects - doubling, phasing, distortion, pitch shifting with an expression pedal etc. Employing heavy vocal effects to sound good in a live mix on top of a full band will be very different to practising at home,  so I'm was hoping to get some starting points from others who may have already got similar stuff setup.

I agree with Pianoguyy. I think most people whom use the mic input on a POD HD would be doing a more basic vocal chain. A thought though would be taking others guitar presets and just mute/disable the amp sim and see what you get. Hope that helps.

actually i’m interested in this too - have you uploaded the patches you found?

just picked up a new HD PRO X and currently loading it for vocal/bass use as well.

To add to what @pianoguyy said, there is a setlist called "Bass/Aco/Voc" (on the 500X at least) that contains some starting points for vocal chains. They start from patch 09A. Probably a good basis for expansion.
