bassmothership
I've just got a 2nd hand HD500. the FLASH FW is V2.62 but the USB FW is V0.00. I cannot find any USB firmware at Line 6 site. And I believe this was supposed to be the latest USB update: Now Available: Free v2.1 Firmware Update for POD HD500, POD HD Pro and POD HD (line6.com). But the link redirects to nowhere and the search shows no USB firmware update at their site. Since this is discontinued product, which is the latest/safest way to update the USB firmware? I've heard Monkey 6 is also discontinued. Please help.
silverhead
What computer and OS are you using? The POD HD500 USB drivers are system specific. Use the Downloads tab (top of this page) to identify the correct driver, if any. In the Hardware field select POD HD500. In the Software field select Drivers. Your current OS should be pre-selected in the OS field. If no drivers are available for your OS try changing the OS field to -Choose OS - to examine all available drivers. Perhaps you can get temporary access to one of the supported systems and perform a one time firmware/driver update.

It is normal for the device to show V0.00 for USB on its display until the device is unplugged from the computer. As soon as you connect it to your computer via USB the actual USB firmware version should finally be shown. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips

I reinstalled the Firmware 2.62. I want to reset the HD500 to factory settings, any changed preset and wipe any previous user presets. I selected Firmware 2.62 in Line 6 monkey and clicked REINSTALL LATEST. But after it asked to pull the power cable my pc went to a BSOD so I don't know if it was reset correctly. I did it a second time and it went through but just to make sure, is there a way to know if the reset process was done correctly? Set Lists USER 1 and 2 are full with presets. Is that normal? The reset procedure (link here: After POD HD500X/500 Flash/Re-Flash/Update: MANDATORY Global Settings Reset! ) does not delete the presets already present nor does it add the factory ones. What it simply does is reset all general settings, including setlist names, to their default value, but without touching the presets. The only way to delete all the presets present and replace them with the factory ones in all the setlists is to answer "no" to the question asked during the firmware installation which asks if you want to keep the presets currently present. If your POD still works after installing the firmware, it means that you've completed the process correctly. Tip: To avoid BSODs, avoid setting POD as your operating system's audio interface and instead use the own settings of the programs you want to use POD as an interface. If you absolutely need to use POD as an operating system audio interface, first shut down your computer and then unplug POD. And also, after closing all the programs using the POD always wait a few seconds longer before finally disconnecting the device from the USB to give the system more time to reorganize its drivers actually in use. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
