bushdenoel
Hello, I'm having a problem with my HX stomp : my patches have a really low volume. The issue went away on its own a few weeks ago, and now it's back. I don't have this problem when I create a new patch at first, but when I set it to 10k it comes back. I tried an update and a reset as well, but it didn't change anything. Did anyone encountered this issue ? Thanks in advance for your help. DunedinDragon
I think you may want to be a bit more descriptive about your problem. I'm assuming "setting it to 10k" refers to setting your Guitar-InZ to 10K but it could be anything such as your low cut filter. But I'll just assume you mean you changed it from Auto to 10K. First, why? Auto should work just fine. That's the default and that's where it works at first. Did you try changing it back to Auto and see if that fixes your output problem? What leads you to think your input impedance needs to be set to 10K?
bushdenoel
Thank you for answering. Yes by setting it to 10k, I meant instead of Auto-Z. I do it because any drive/dist/fuzz sounds a lot better with it. I do get a bit more volume when I set it back to Auto-Z, but that doesn't solve another part of the problem that I forgot to mention : I get a massive tone suck and lose a lot of mids and highs. Thing is, setting it to 10k never brought any issue before. The global eq is turned off, and I don't have any tone/volume loss when my guitar goes through the pedal turned off. When you set the input Z to 10kOhm the massive volume drop is normal - the loss of highs, too. It's part of how the passive guitar electrics interact with the input impedance. Did you use a pedal in front of the Stomp before? Or active pickups?
bushdenoel
I use a strat with regular single coil pickups. I tried other things to see if the issue would go away : plugin directly into the stomp, other cables, other power options. I never had that massive loss in my eq and in volume before. It went away on its own before coming without me changing anything. The difference is impossible not to notice.
