How do I setup a DI/LI box like the Canvas Mono with the HX Stomp?

Connection bewteen those: Do I need a TRS or TS cable? Canvas Mono: DI or LI? HX Stomp: Ouput on Line or Inst level?  I am a bit confused what the best setup is.

At the moment I have a TS cable connected with Inst level on the HX Stomp and DI mode on on the Canvas.

Sorry to be dense, but what is your goal in using this box?  Getting a clean signal from your guitar into a recording console?  Or sending your HX Stomp output to both a guitar amplifier and a PA?

Regardless, you don't need a TRS cable, it doesn't look like the Canvas supports balanced 1/4" connections (and certainly not stereo).

Thanks for your answer.

My goal is to connect the my pedal board to FOH or a mixing station. I know the HX Stomp does have balanced outputs but I want to isolate the device, having a ground lift and in most cases, I only get a XLR cable. I don't use an amp but an active monitor for my setup.

I don't own a Stomp but from what I understand it's a TRS output.  Generally you set the output level on the Helix Global Settings ins/outs, to either Line or Mic, but I'm not sure if it's the same on the Stomp but I suspect it is.  Generally most modern mixing boards have preamps that can manage either.  Some older mixing boards have setting that determine if it's expecting a Mic or Line level signal on the XLR in.  Check with whoever is running the mixing board for that information.

Hi

From the HX Stomp Owner’s Manual -

item 12 on the illustration of the HX Stomp page 7

OUTPUT L/MONO, RIGHT These 1/4" outputs can accommodate either unbalanced TS cables to connect to your guitar amp or other pedals or balanced TRS cables to connect to your mixing console or studio monitors. When connecting to a mono pedal or single amp, connect only the L/MONO 1/4" jack.

From the HX Stomp Owner’s Manual - Global Settings page 51

Choose “Inst[rument]” when connecting the 1/4" outputs to stompboxes or the front of guitar amps; choose “Line” when connecting to mixers or standalone recorders. When using a single amp or mixer channel, connect only the LEFT/MONO 1/4" jack.

Your Walrus Audio Canvas is 1/4” unbalanced input to XLR balanced output and features a “ground lift” switch to reduce hum.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
