jprykiel
Hi friends. Okay, so I can save a backup and restore it after an update, this will give me the unit back to how it was before, but the disadvantage is that I won't get the new presets if any. If I save my own presets, do a factory reset after updating, and load my presets back, how can I restore my general settings. I know I can redo them, but it would be quicker to get them back if possible. Thanks for your help, JPR

Thanks for your help, JPR Hi, When you update to new firmware, you are advised to make a complete backup of everything on your device. This is your safety copy. When the update has completed, after rebuilding the presets, you should still have all your presets and settings are still functional on the hardware, and now optimised to run on the new firmware. You can choose to reboot your HX Stomp while holding down FS2 & FS3 which will then perform a Factory Reset on your unit, which will erase your presets etc., and replace them with the new factory defaults. You can the explore the new factory presets provided in the update, and then should you decide you want to keep them, you can export them from HX Edit as individual presets, or setlists. Again, by using the HX Edit menu, you can select “Restore from Backup”, which will the bring up a window pointing to the last backup you made, or navigate to another, from where you can select exactly which items you want to restore to your Stomp. These can include, Globals, Favorites, IRs, Setlists etc. You simply need to click to create a green tick mark in each selection you wish to restore. My guess is you are referring to the Global settings, so you could just select them to restore if you like. Hope this helps/makes sense.
