HX Effects Boot Failure: res=-33 reading when trying to update firmware

Hi, I've seen others ask this question, but am having problems with my Macbook (Mac OS Monterey 12.6).

The suggested fixes - move USB port, restart in update mode, etc. - don't seem to be working.

I'm guessing because I have a USB multi-port adapter - perhaps the interface is causing the Updater to not recognize my HX Effects?

I'm a little confused, as my MacBook was recognizing the HX Effects and before this reading occurred seemed to be downloading the Firmware.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, any suggestions? I don't have another computer with a USB port to do the update.

Any assistance is appreciated.

That could well be the problem. Have you tried updating without using this adapter?

Is it possible to update the HX Effects without a usb connection? The adapter is the only way to connect to the MacBook. Maybe I'll have to borrow a friend's computer?

Hi.

I have seen this error previously, but on a Windows computer.

See my comments in the thread - it seems to have fixed it for him.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
