Ongoing support

As someone who has used and loved Echo Farm and Amp farm in practically every mix I have made for 25 years, I am saddened to see its product life end. I look for products to use in my mixes which have ongoing compatibility so I can recall sessions for years to come. It's why I rely on companies like WAVES who are always backwardly compatible and continue to support the oldest of products. I avoid small companies because they disappear and so the chances of them becoming incompatible as OS and hardware evolves is practically 100%. I don't mind paying for upgrades, or even new versions that will load older versions settings.

That said - the offer for a discount to 'upgrade' to HELIX doesn't tempt me much because I fear the same will happen in time. Whereas theres lots of options for companies with similar products that have continued to support product and not EOL them.

Convince me why I should commit and trust Line 6 if I put the time and effort in to HELIX and not products from say WAVES, Plugin Alliance, NI, McDSP or AVID itself to replace my farm addictions as we move in my case to Apple Silicon based Macs, which will result eventually in incompatibility. OH and have I missed the spec that states HELIX is Apple Silicon native now or coming? TIA!

This is one of those situations where the only person who can convince you about Helix Native is YOU!

Suffice to say, I have been using Helix Native in Logic Pro since it first arrived way back in August 2017, and it is updated regularly along with the matching hardware units. I previously had POD Farm and a whole stack of extension packs - none of which could hold a candle to Native.

I have to say that I think your logic, regarding those other companies, is seriously flawed - you  have zero guarantee that any of those companies you mention will still be in business tomorrow. You pay your money, and take a chance. The only certainty in life is uncertainty!

The best thing you can do right now is to download and install the latest version of Helix Native which can be run for 15 days without any restrictions. Prepare to be amazed!

It may be time to drag yourself out of the Stone Age and into the future.

Oh, yeah - you did miss the spec regarding Apple OS.

from the download page:

“Compatible OS: Mac OS X, macOS Sierra, macOS High Sierra, macOS Mojave, macOS Catalina, macOS Big Sur, macOS Monterey, macOS Ventura, macOS Sonoma”

Hope this helps/makes sense.

Although officially unsupported, the most recent Helix Native version 3.71 still works on El Capitan, on a 16 years old Mac, nota bene:

(I've actually updated this Mac to Native v3.71 only a few minutes ago, after noticing I still had "only" v3.60 installed. Silly me… :)
