HX Effects/MIDI not changing presets with Reaper

Hello - am learning Reaper focused on using the DAW to change presets in HX Effects, using Program Change messages.

This works within Cubase, no issues.

With Reaper, I believe I have set everything up to work. My setup info recognizes HX Effects, and have set it to enable MIDI messages. I have used the Event List editor to add several PC events, with what I believe to be the correct information. Sample: Bank/Program Select dialog box. Bank is empty, Program is empty, MIDI channel is set to 9 (as is the HX Effects unit), Bank MSB/LSB are both at 0. Program Number is on 2, which should bring up my #3 preset. It does not, no change within HX Effects.

I set up a sample list of events, asking HX Effects to change to 3 different presets over 9 measures. None of them are working.

I have HX Effects set to USB MIDI on, along with the standard MIDI ports also active.

Again, Cubase has a similar feature (list Editor) and it works. Clearly I am missing something on the Reaper side. Any ideas what to look for?

Thanks,

Terry

Reaper>Options>Preferences>MIDI Devices

Make sure the HXS is set as a MIDI Output

On the track you're sending MIDI from, ROUTE the Output to the HXS with the proper Channel .

HXFX Global MIDI PC Rx ON.

Thank you - The routing was the key. As a total newby, I didn't know about the routing options. Just figured out how to route a MIDI track to the HX Effects - and by gosh it worked. Thanks again.
