gregovertone
Logic mutes Helix? . My buddy is having an issue. Logic is muting his helix, connected via usb. Both when pressing play/pause. And when he quits logic. Moving the expression pedal brings the sound back. I’m assuming a midi change. Anyone familiar with this? Have any solutions? Hi, Just a general FYI, I have my Helix floor hooked up to Logic via USB, in fact all the Mac audio passes through the Helix to my monitors. It has been this way since I acquired the Helix back in late 2015, and it us used almost daily. I can say definitively that I have never encountered what your buddy described. I have just locked up the studio for the night, so I’m not able to try to figure out what might be triggering the “mute”. It could be beneficial to know exactly what he means by “mute”? Is he referring to the “mute” button on the Logic channel strip, or “mute” meaning no audio at all out of his HX unit? If he is using MIDI out from the HX then it could be the culprit. Tell him to use a MIDI monitor to see what the HX is transmitting. Freebie here: https://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

But on the other hand, I have also deliberately disabled USB MIDI in the Stomp Global Preferences, just to make sure it's never interfering…
amsdenj
Sounds like you don't have input monitoring turned on in the track. So you only heard sound when armed for recording.
